Lincoln Mutual Insurance Company was formed in 1895 under the name of: "The Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Association of Raleigh, North Carolina". The earliest known Secretary/Treasurer on record was R.M. Roseman in 1923, followed by:

In 1963 the Lincoln County Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Association merged with Gaston County Farmers Mutual and became the Lincoln-Gaston County Branch of the Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Association of North Carolina.
1994 saw Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Association, Lincoln-Gaston County Branch update their State Charter and change the Company name to Lincoln-Gaston Farmers Mutual Insurance Company. Lincoln-Gaston Farmers Mutual served 6-contiguous counties. Those six counties were Lincoln, Gaston, Catawba, Burke, Rutherford, and Cleveland.
On January 1, 1997, we welcomed into our operation by way of merger the Catawba Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Company of Newton, NC.
A significant event occurred in the history of Lincoln Mutual, when in November of 2005 Lincoln-Gaston Farmers Mutual sought and received approval from the North Carolina Department of Insurance to become a Statewide Limited Assessable Mutual Insurance Company. It was at that time the name of the company was changed to "Lincoln Mutual Insurance Company".
Lincoln Mutual Insurance Company is domiciled and licensed to write insurance in the State of North Carolina. We are proud to offer the citizens of our great state Home Owner, Farm Owner, Mobile Home Owner, Standard Fire, and Church Protector policies.
